How Much Does It Cost To Make A Will?

The question as to the cost to draft a will by an attorney can not be settled with a simple monetary figure. There are so many components that speak to this issue. Above all else, it is imperative that you utilize an experienced estate planning attorney who can properly guide you as to the necessary components of a will, and to be sure it is executed property. That attorney can also advise whether further documents are necessary to protect your estate, and to ensure your wishes are carried out. Such documents may include the drafting a trust (revocable, irrevocable, life insurance), a Durable Power of Attorney, a Living Will and Health Care Proxy, and possible transfer documents if it is in the best interest of the client to transfer real property to protect from Medicaid or creditor liens.

Obviously the more involved and complicated the estate, the more expensive the legal fee will be for execution of the will. Further, if more complex estate planning documents need to be drafted, the fee will be more expensive as well.

Please note that our initial estate planning consultation is free and requires no obligation on your part.
